to Borneo Seahare Hostel
By Taxi - Please tell the driver to go to 'Tours of Joy' travel agent which is at Teochew Association building. Teochew Association building is opposite the Kuching Prison or next to Borneo Hotel. Once there, look for the Orange stairs next to 'Tous of Joy' and Borneo Seahare Hostel is on the topmost floor above 'Tours of Joy' travel agent.
By Bus - Buses are not reliable and not encouraged. Nevertheless, if needs be, here are the information for buses to the hostel from the airport. Please get ready your change.
- (Blue Bus) Chin Lian Long Transport Bus No. 8A (Tel : +6082-422767)
- (Green Bus) Sarawak Transport Company Bus No. 12A (Tel : +6082-242967)
Ask to stop at St. Mary's School, then when you have disembarked, cross the road to a restaurant called 'The Junk'. From there, walk to your right (facing the restaurant entrance) along the shophouses bypassing 'Ting & Ting Supermarket', up the slope until you reach 'Teochew Association' building. At that building, on the groundfloor, look for 'Tours of Joy' Travel Agency. Walk up the Orange stairs to the left of the travel agency and you will reach the Hostel at the top floor.
Alternatively, a shorter way, would be to disembark at Chung Hua No.1 Primary School, walk to your right (facing the school entrance) bypassing a row of shophouses until you reach Kuching Prison (with high walls), cross to the opposite side and you will reach 'Teochew Association' building. From there, look for 'Tours of Joy' Travel Agency on the groundfloor and walk up the Orange stairs next to the agency. You will then reach the Hostel on the top floor.
If you happen to stop at the General Post Office bus station, cross the road to the General Post Office building (Victorian looking building) and walk to your right (facing the Post Office) following the traffic flow. Pass the St. Thomas Anglican Cathedral on your left until you reach to a junction. Do Not Cross the junction but continue to walk alongside the Catheral (still on your left) up the road until you reach St. Mary School. From there cross the road to a restaurant called 'The Junk'. Then, walk to your right (facing the restaurant) along the old shophouses bypassing 'Ting & Ting Supermarket', walk up the slope until you reach 'Teochew Association' building.
